Hi, I'm Becky, founder of Arise Images.
After turning 40, I woke up to a painful truth: I wasn't living my life, I was just existing for everyone else. So I made a choice to arise, or stay dead. I chose to rise, and so Arise Images was born from a deeper desire to seek joy, take up space, and help other women do the same.
My family and I later traded the suburbs of Chicago for Asheville, chasing the mountains and more sunshine. And when Hurricane Helene upended this community, I found myself starting over again, right alongside so many other grieving, disoriented business owners.
That's the ground my business is built on.
Now I get to do what lights me up most: sit with courageous women building something of their own, and tell the story of who's behind it.
Because I see you.
I am you.
And I'm still learning to rise, too.

Creativity
In a world filled with AI answers and AI images that are boring, basic and lack connection through creativity, I want to highlight the stuff that makes our brands human. So I listen to stories and build images based on the unique nature of every human who has a thing they do in only the way they do it.

This is not the Arise Images show. I can only do what I do because there’s a story out there that is NOT mine but that I get the honor of being trusted to tell visually. I take my skills of curiosity, listening, intuition, creativity and CO CREATE images with my clients that feel special and aligned, unique to a brand.

Connection
A strong visual has the capacity to move a person. At my core, I want to create visuals that create connections between humans. I believe this is how brands gain visibility and experience growth, get recognized as experts, trusted by their community. And that’s when people will buy your thing. That’s what I want for my clients. That’s what I want for me.

After turning 40 I woke up to the painful reality that I wasn’t living my life. I had been existing for the sake of everyone else, at the expense of myself. My family wasn’t thriving, some of my friends had literally died, my marriage was dying and I could not name a damn thing I wanted in life.
The day came when I realized I had a choice. Arise? Or stay dead.
I chose the grief-filled work of rising. Arise Images was born from a choice to live, seek joy, and become a woman who desires to take up space in the world. In this new chapter, I am chasing a joy-filled life that desires to elevate the voices of women around me in hopes they, too, learn to heal and thrive.

All About Asheville
Rising didn't stop with starting Arise Images. In 2023, my family and I packed up our life in Chicago and moved to Asheville, chasing after mountains for their beauty, their quiet, their strange way of healing you just by being in them.
We were tired and grieving so much loss and we needed more sunshine, in every sense of that word. What we didn't know was that a year later, our new life would be interrupted again.
Hurricane Helene tore through this community and added to our too long list of losses. But in the middle of that grief, I found something I wasn't expecting: real relationships with a business community that was broken and rebuilding right alongside me. I started over, again, next to so many other disoriented, grieving business owners.
And that's the ground my business is actually built on. Not just some pithy tagline that gets people to purchase branding photos. A community that showed up for each other when everything fell apart.

How Photography Started
In 2010 I became a mom and what I didn’t know then was that motherhood wasn’t the only beautiful beginning. Because of a crappy iPhone I carried in my pocket, and one precious baby girl I carried in my arms, I fell in love with photography.
I discovered I had an eye for the beautiful mundane of parenthood that people resonated and connected with. After many years as a hobby, I started Arise Images with a focus on family lifestyle photography. Just like starting a family, I had no idea how hard it would be to start, own and grow my own business.

How Passion Bloomed
As a female entrepreneur I have become drawn to and in awe of the stories of courageous women who take that vulnerable leap of faith to create a business.
I find myself wanting to tell your story as the one behind your business. You manifested that good idea into a beautiful reality! You are the one taking risks and making mistakes in the name of building a business. I admire you, I want to be like you, I AM you and I’m here to elevate your story as I learn to do the same for myself.
