Erased Filmmaking Behind the Scenes

Shooting bts (“behind the scenes”) stills for this team was an extremely memorable experience for me. I had never seen behind the scenes of a film crew before so I said yes with curiosity and a “I’ll figure it out” energy when knowing there was little light available for me, that it would be very quiet at some moments (filming), very loud at others (building a set), in a very small space (like a literal fake closet built out in a basement), with a crew all focused on producing a vision and piecing together a story.

Watching Missy Bell direct her film (oh and did I mention this was weeks after Hurricane Helene hit and we still had no running water in Asheville?) was a whole other element that moved me as a fellow creative watching a bad ass female film director in her element and handling a high stress process with direction, communication and grace.
